The wrecks were sunk at the weekend as Cyclone Mitchell passed close to the Pilbara coast, creating severe weather.

All Pilbara Ports were closed as the cyclone bore down on the region, but operations resumed at the Port of Port Hedland on Sunday.

The Ports of Ashburton, Cape Preston West, Dampier and Varanus Island followed suit at 8am AWST on Monday.

The cyclone later crossed the Gascoyne coast and faded from a Category 2 to 1 as it crossed the coast and moved inland as a tropical low.
