ALC highlights benefits of Master Code

AUSTRALIAN Logistics Council interim chief executive Lachlan Benson says an industry-wide Master Code for heavy vehicle safety is an important step for the whole industry. The Master Code was formally launched with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator in Canberra on Thursday 29 November. The ALC has also confirmed it will offer the ALC Master Code Auditing Service to members and supply chain partners during 2019. “The launch of the Master Code is a powerful demonstration of ALC’s ongoing commitment in the safety space,” Mr Benson said. “The Master Code sets a new benchmark for heavy vehicle safety, and its benefits will be felt by all road users in the years ahead.” Mr Benson said particular recognition should go to Peter Elliot, ALC program manager – safety, for his efforts during the last 18 months to deliver the Master Code.
