CMA CGM Missouri grounds in Suez Canal

SEVERAL media organisations are reporting the grounding of the CMA CGM Missouri (IMO 9679919) in the Suez Canal.

The 900TEU, 300metre, Liberian-flagged vessel left Port Said on 13 October.

According to reports the vessel, at around 1:50pm local time on 14 October, suffered mechanical problems while heading south transiting the Suez Canal in convoy.

The grounding of CMA CGM Missouri reportedly caused the convoy, with the next vessel in line the Maersk Hanoi to come to a halt.

No other ships were damaged in the incident CMA CGM Missouri was then towed to the Great Bitter Lake for manoeuvring.
