CONSULTING engineering company Haskoning has appointed Bas van Dijk as director of its water and maritime unit within its Asia-Pacific operations.
A senior engineer with more than 20 years of global experience at Haskoning, Mr Van Dijk is said to bring “a proven track record in innovation, technical excellence and strategic growth”.
He is linked with some high-profile maritime and waterfront developments.
“Stepping into the role of director business unit W&M APAC is an exciting opportunity,” Mr Van Dijk said.
“The region is full of potential, and I’m looking forward to working with our talented teams to drive our strategy forward.
“My experience across APAC and internationally has shown me what’s possible when we combine technical excellence with a clear vision, and I’m committed to accelerating our growth and innovation.”
Van Dijk’s portfolio includes contributions to major global projects such as Vietnam’s leading container terminal Gemalink, and the revitalisation of Circular Quay in Sydney.
He recently played an important part in overseeing the design phase of the Bina Harbour project in the Solomon Islands.
He has led the Water & Maritime Australia team for the past two and a half years while based in Sydney.
“We’re thrilled to appoint Bas to this role, giving him a unique platform to lead one of our most diverse and high-potential regions,” said Jon Robinson, global director, water & maritime at Haskoning.
“His extensive experience has sharpened his strategic vision and deepened his understanding of our people, clients and markets,” Mr Robinson said.
“Bas is exceptionally well positioned to guide our multidisciplinary teams across APAC and help advance our Empowering Excellence 2030 strategy.”
Mr van Dijk is to relocate to Manila for the role.
He succeeds Sarah Budd, who is to take up the role of water & maritime empowering excellence strategy director from January 2026.
