THE National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) has announced Michael Guerin as its new chief executive, effective 23 March 2026.
NFF president Hamish McIntyre welcomed the appointment, pointing to Mr Guerin’s “proven leadership capabilities”.
“Mike brings extensive experience to the NFF CEO role, through his current role as acting CEO of NSW Farmers, and as the eight years he spent as AgForce CEO,” Mr McIntyre said.
“His experience means he will well and truly hit the ground running in March.
“We heartily welcome Mike’s appointment and are looking forward to a new chapter of leadership at NFF House.”
Mr Guerin said he was “honoured” to take on the job.
“The NFF is agriculture’s peak national body and I am truly humbled to be selected as its chief executive,” Mr Guerin said.
“I’m especially looking forward to making in-roads in the member advocacy space, an issue I am very familiar with. There is plenty of work to be done and I’m excited to dig in.”
Mr Guerin is to take over from NFF’s interim chief executive, Su McCluskey.
Ms McCluskey took over as interim CEO following the departure of Troy Williams who had a relatively short stint at the helm in the first half of 2025.

Mr McIntyre thanked Ms McCluskey for her efforts.
“Su has led the NFF with a steady hand and sharp eye,” Mr McIntyre said.
“We wish her all the very best as she spends more time on her farm.”
President of NSW Farmers, Xavier Martin, wished Mr Guerin well.
“Governance and structural reform are key areas of strength for Mike,” Mr Martin said.
“He is a deeply experienced leader with a rare combination of corporate, governance, and peak body expertise.”
