First female Coordinator-General appointed for Queensland

STATE development minister Cameron Dick has announced the appointment of Toni Power as Queensland’s new Coordinator-General.
The Coordinator-General has wide-ranging powers to plan, deliver and coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
Ms Power has a quarter of a century of experience in the public sector at state and Commonwealth levels, and has held several executive roles.
Mr Dick said Ms Power would become Queensland’s first female Coordinator-General.
“Since its creation in 1939, the Coordinator-General’s role has been critical to the delivery of numerous major infrastructure projects in Queensland,” he said.
“The Coordinator-General has a wide range of powers to independently assess and balance the economic development, environmental sustainability and social impacts of large-scale projects.
“Ms Power has experience across investment facilitation, industry partnerships and the promotion of regional growth.”
Mr Dick said Ms Power’s career experience and capabilities would be of great value to the state.
Ms Power said she was honoured to be appointed and excited by the opportunity to work across government and with business and industry. “I’m looking forward to help deliver strategic projects that will benefit Queenslanders,” she said.
