LEGENDARY jazz master Herbie Hancock and Carnival Australia chairman, Ann Sherry celebrated Carnival Corporation’s support of International Jazz Day with a reception at Sydney Opera House recently.
Sydney began Australia’s International Jazz Day program with workshops and masterclasses hosted by the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz.
It all climaxes with a global concert in Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Tuesday April 30 — International Jazz Day — featuring more than 30 of the world’s greatest jazz musicians including Herbie and Australian jazz legend James Morrison.
Carnival Corporation chairman Ann Sherry said the company was proud to play a role.
“Carnival Corporation feels a strong connection with International Jazz Day as travel like music has the power to change the world and bring people together,” Ms Sherry said. “They both open minds, build connections and inspire a shared humanity.”
