A BROAD cross-section of the maritime community gathered at the Australian National Maritime Museum to hear Labor’s Anthony Albanese launch his party’s shipping policy.
The event was organised by Maritime Industry Australia, an industry body which has sought to highlight the policies of both sides of politics leading up to the 18 May election.
Among those attending were representatives of the private sector, unions, industry groups and government.
Mr Albanese spoke at length, before the floor was opened for questions. In some cases, this resulted in a lively exchange of views.
