SVITZER Australia officially opened its new offices at Kooringa Way, Port Melbourne, with an evening ceremony on Thursday night (29 August).

The event was attended by a wide cross-section of the maritime sector in Melbourne, including representatives of shipping and stevedoring companies, port operators and pilots among others.

Svitzer Australia general manager east coast James Mather and Svitzer Australia port manager for Victoria Peter Cream gave speeches before the facility was officially opened by Svitzer Australia managing director Nicolaj Noes.

Earlier Uncle Bill Nicholson conducted the ‘Welcome to Country’ ritual.

The new offices are at Port Melbourne and near Webb Dock, closer to the mouth of the Yarra River than previous facilities.

They are made from shipping containers and were designed by interior designer and director of Containerkit Anna Price.
