TRANSPORT industry participants gathered in the Westpac Building in Melbourne for a briefing this week about trade.

Westpac economist Matthew Hassan provided some insights into the world economy, the impact of policy by Tweet as well as how the housing sector is affecting the economies of both Australia and Victoria.

The presentation was followed by a question and answer session, with Mr Hassan saying the country should be able to avoid a recession.

There was time for socialising after the event, with food and drinks served.

The session was organised by the Victorian Transport Association in conjunction with Westpac.
