A CELEBRATION of the life of the late Nigel Porteous OAM has been organised for 19 January.
As reported in DCN, Captain Porteous passed away on 4 December at the age of 87.
Obituaries were published in The Age.
The service is to be held on 19 January at 1.30pm at the Mission to Seafarers Melbourne, 717 Flinders St, Docklands.
The service is to be held in the Mission chapel and is open to all who wish to celebrate his life.

Captain Porteous’s maritime career was extensive and dates back many years, a notable recent example being his time with ship management company ASP Ships.
He was also a great supporter of the Mission to Seafarers and supporting their work improving the lives of mariners generally.
