SEA Lead shipping is to deploy a vessel on the CA2 service, effective from March and the shipping line has appointed Nautical Shipping as its exclusive agents in Australia.

Nautical Shipping is a subsidiary of Leeward Group, a newly formed company that is also the parent company of established agency Quay Shipping.

Leeward Group managing director Darren Dumbleton said Nautical Shipping would operate as an independent business headquartered in Melbourne.

“Leeward Group is a diversified company with a portfolio of independent businesses operating across many segments of the container, break bulk shipping and freight logistics industry,” Mr Dumbleton said.

“Sea Lead has been a phenomenal growth story since it commenced operations as a niche feeder operator in the Middle East in 2017. Nautical Shipping looks forward to helping Sea Lead expand into the Australian market.”

Sea Lead is based in Dubai and Singapore and specialises in container shipping. According to Alphaliner, the company has a total capacity of 74,302 TEU and is the 24th largest container carrier in the world. All 21 of its ships are chartered.
